This is my Journey
Small improvements every day can build into something great!
I wasn't always into fitness. When I was younger, I experimented with sports, even a local baseball league, but I preferred computers and video games.
Into adulthood, I built a career in as a Software Engineer. I became a night owl, spending hours at night on the computer, or on a gaming console, packing on the pounds, and ultimately developed bad sleeping habits. I was "in a constant state of tired."
After building a family, I realized that I needed to improve my health and fitness so that I can be there for everyone for a lifetime. I've become a firm believer in stepping outside of one's comfort zone. That's where the magic happens. So I started eating better, working out, and trying to get more sleep. I've tried a variety of workout routines and programs. I even put myself through a "couch potato to marathon runner" training routine.
I found my motivation in working out with others toward a common goal. I joined a Tough Mudder team with a good friend of mine, and started getting into group fitness. Tough Mudder was one of my biggest physical challenges. Another challenge of mine was getting certified to teach INSANITY workouts in group classes. Although that certification program is no longer available, it helped me out in many ways. Sometimes life got in the way of my progress, but I won't let life slow me down anymore.
I've made a commitment to do something every day to improve myself. Great things can happen when you make small improvements every day. As I work through my fitness journey, I want to do everything I can to inspire others to do the same.
